The Thomson Family

A few weeks ago we were so very honored take some family portraits for the Thomson family before Colten left on an LDS mission to the Bay Area.  It turned out to be a very windy day so we changed the shoot location (from an exposed area near the lake) to a more sheltered area near Ogden (Fort Buenaventura). Here’s one near the pond taken with natural light.

Next is an image taken inside the fort.  Lucy the dog was busy disturbing a nearby film crew.  LOL.  This shot was taken with speed lights through umbrellas on both sides of the shot and just out of the frame.

Lucy the dog made another appearance for this image.  I really like how this fence is stacked up. This one was taken with two speed lights on both sides of the image. The flash on the right was a little stronger.

Brad Thomson grew up using a scatter-rake on the farm. When he saw one near the fort he really wanted a portrait taken there.  This one was taken in sunlight with no flash.
