Untitled

Shot on April 17th in Ogden, Utah at Smith & Edwards with a Nikon D90 and the 50mm f/1.8 lens. The image was shot at 50mm, 1/200s, f/11, ISO 200, using Aperture Priority Exposure mode. The image was post processed using Lightroom 2.6.

I found these canisters laying in a pile. Given that I found these far in the back of the Smith & Edwards yard, just about anything could have been in these canisters. They became much more interesting as I got low to the ground. The depth, layering of the canisters, size of the large garbage can in the back, and texture of the wood in the background all play well together to make a visually compelling image.

Stadium Arcadium

Okay, this has nothing to do with RHCP, just thought it was a cool title for my arcade shots. It’s been a while since I’ve (Julie) taken any fun pictures so when I had the opportunity, I took it.

I’ve always thought arcades were creepy and I wanted to prove my point. It was a small arcade so there aren’t many pictures, but I think you get the point.

The plastic ducks are eerily staring right at me.

The claw. It could be used for any number of tortuous acts.

Midvale Photowalk

Near the beginning of March a group of photography enthusiasts from the office got together during lunch for a photowalk in historic Midvale. Oh how much fun we had hanging out and making lots of pictures together!  I’ve previously blogged a few images that you can find here, here, here, and here.  :)  Here’s an image of Nick examining a great brick wall and thanks to Walter for the image of me.

Did I mention they have wonderful brick in historic Midvale?  Really, it is wonderful.

If you want to see a few more images them check out the gallery.
