Engaged!

Liz and Zack are such a cute couple. It’s obvious how much they care for and love one another.

They’re also terrific actors! You can’t tell at all from the pictures, but it was FREEZING!!! The wind was blowing and we got so cold we had to take a break and sit by a fire. Then get hot chocolate before finishing the last half of the shoot. But we didn’t mind!! These two are fun to hang out with and it was a great chance to chat
and get to know them a little better.

We’ll see Liz again soon to shoot her bridals. Hopefully, we’ll get perfectly warm weather for those!!

Discontinuous

I held the camera above my head and stood on my tip-toes to get the vertical lines straight.  I used live-view to compose the image.  More to come…

Life on a Block

One thing Rob wanted to do on his birthday was a photowalk in downtown Ogden.  He got his wish! We didn’t get there in time to walk with all the other photographers but we took the kids and enjoyed it on our own.  Rob’s been too busy studying for his Professional Engineering exam to finish his pictures but I thought I’d post mine.

Doesn’t this Roosevelt Hotel look oh so warm and inviting?? Don’t you just want to curl up in their sheets after enjoying a “private bath and steam heat”? I know I do!

As interesting as the front of the block is, I decided we should walk around to the back of the buildings to see what we could find.

Such is the life on an Ogden block.

Sitting Waiting Wishing

Shot on February 23th in Herriman, Utah with a Nikon D90 and the 105mm f/2.8 macro lens. The image was shot at 105mm, 1/500s, f/8, ISO 200, using Aperture Priority Exposure mode. The image was post processed using Lightroom 2.6.

I took this image on a cool winter morning.  This plant was reaching for the sun.  I find myself waiting for sun and wishing for warmer days!  I’m certain that I’m not alone.
